Can You Believe The Stupidity Of This?

Sometimes things happen that are almost impossible to believe. This is one of those things.

To have it happen once is stupid, but for it to be repeated illustrates beautifully the old saying "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men". I guess that in this case the rule is definitely being obeyed by a fool!

Wasn't it Tesco (who own One-Stop) who refused to sell a bottle of wine to a mother because she had her children with her? Ridiculous!

It was also Tesco (who I think do own One-Stop) who refused to allow a man, again accompanied by his children) to buy party poppers because they were seen as incendiary devices until he had proven his age!! How bizarre is this? And what is the world coming too? Continue to be amazed by these actions of 'rules being obeyed by fools' because it certainly won't stop in the short term. You see, you haven't lost the ability to write about a subject that means something to you. Keep blogging. :-))

It does seem like severe twittery but the ID applied to all rule is usually designed to protect staff from agression: we ask everyone, nothing personal. They do the same at American airports. Maybe the staff involved forgot to explain this. Or maybe it hadn't been explained to them.
