New Girl On The Block

I've decided to start a web log. Everyone's doing it, so I thought I would have a go. I'm not sure what it is going to contain, nor how often I will be posting to it, but I see it as a form of therapy and I hope that it will help me out of the terrible hole I am in.

I am sure that I will find things to rant and rave about because I do so regularly by email to an old friend, but now I have decided to offer my thoughts to a wider audience. Talking to strangers is not something that I would do in the real world, but for some reason I think that I can manage it in a virtual world, so today is the start of a new phase in my life.

I have had a wonderful time reading some blogs over the last few weeks and already have a few that I am reading regularly. Who are the bloggers? Well many of them are written by members of the medical profession which just goes to show that you don't actually have to visit a doctor for them to make you feel better. It strikes me that many of these medical men (and ladies) are writing their blogs for much the same reason as I intend to; as a means to maintain my sanity and improve my outlook on life. And why do I want to do that? Well, I suffer from depression and sometimes just getting out of bed in the morning can be a real chore, but I know that I have to focus my mind on something and laughter can be really good for one's health. So I hope that I can write things that will make you laugh, give you food for thought, or just help you to pass a few minutes during the day.

That being said, I'm going to say bye for now and think about what I shall write about next. I have a real bee in my bonnet about many things, some of which may be considered very old-fashioned these days, but I am an old-fashioned girl who likes good manners, integrity and for people to live and let live. So, I am sure that I am going to upset some, but hopefully will have others crying "I agree with you there".
